What is Mushroom Coffee?

Generically speaking, Mushroom Coffee is regular coffee infused with a medicinal mushroom extract.  There are various kids of mushroom coffee made by several companies.

Certain mushrooms such as reishi (also known as Ganoderma Lucidum) have a variety of health benefits.  These mushrooms have been used in Oriental medicine for millennia.  Search Google or PubMed for more information on the benefits of this wonderful herb.

Gano Excel

Mushroom Coffee was first introduced to Canada and the United States in April of 2004 by a company called Gano Excel.  Gano Excel is a Network Marketing company that is headquartered in Malaysia with locations in various countries.  The mushroom coffee sold by Gano Excel is instant and contains six varieties of the reishi mushroom, also known as Ganoderma Lucidum.

OrGano Gold

OrGano Gold was started in spring of 2008 by a team of people who were formerly part of Gano Excel.  OrGano Gold has a similar line of coffee products as Gano Excel.  Some OrGano Gold affiliates make the claim that their product is certified organic though this is not printed on any of the product labels.

JavaFit

As of January, 2010, mushroom coffee is now available from JavaFit.  The new mushroom coffee from JavaFit is brewed.  Not instant.  It contains a blend of fourteen different medicinal mushrooms.  More details may be found on the Ingredients page.

CafeFit

CafeFit entered the healthy coffee market in the sprig of 2011 as a private label of the JavaFit brand.
